Borderlands is now in cinemas!

Borderlands - one of the most anticipated films of the summer is in cinemas today!

Based on one of the best-selling videogame franchises of all time, this action-adventure-comedy follows Lilith (Cate Blanchett), an infamous treasure hunter with a mysterious past, who reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of Atlas (Edgar Ramírez), the universe’s most powerful S.O.B.

She forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits ― Roland (Kevin Hart), once a highly respected soldier, but now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Florian Munteanu), Tina’s musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector; Dr. Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), the scientist who’s seen it all; and Claptrap (Jack Black), a persistently wiseass robot.

These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe could be in their hands ― but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other.

Long before producing the film, Ari Arad, whose credits include the recent hit Uncharted, had enjoyed playing the game upon which it’s based, calling it “cool and weird, and one of the more exciting and emotional games I’ve experienced. The game is action-packed but there’s a sweetness to it, which I thought was unique.”

Another key figure in Tiny Tina’s life is her stalwart, hulking, and loyal bodyguard Krieg. “It’s a bizarre relationship,” says Roth, “because both Tiny Tina and Krieg have been discarded. They are two misfits who take care of one another; there’s love and acceptance between them, in a big brother-little sister type way. Tiny Tina can take care of Krieg when he needs it, and he can and will kill anyone to protect her. The film is very much about the family you choose; within that family you learn to sacrifice and that’s when you are at your strongest.”

“The difference between Krieg and all the other Psychos is the soft spot in his heart he has for Tiny Tina,” says Florian Munteanu, who is best known for portraying fearsome boxer Viktor Drago in Creed II and Creed III.

According to Roth, it’s a perfect fit between actor and role.Florian grounds Krieg in a way I didn’t know was possible. He brings real humanity and multiple layers to a character that on the surface seems totally insane and savage.”

Principal photography took place in Budapest, where the BORDERLANDS art direction teams, led by production designer Andrew Menzies, constructed Pandora from Hungary’s unique geological features and from inside Budapest’s formidable sound stages.

There, they brought to life Pandora’s mix of the wild American West, humor, and an epic fantasy space adventure.

Budapest provided impressive otherworldly locations, heightened by director of photography Rogier Stoffers’s striking cinematography, including rock quarries, mines, and underground tunnels.

Production also took over the whole of Stern Studios. “I love that we got to invent everything,” comments Roth. “It’s a lawless world, where everyone is figuring out how to just survive.”

Award-winning filmmaker Eli Roth made his directorial debut in 2002 with the hugely successful film Cabin Fever, and his follow-up titles – Hostel, Hostel Part II, Knock Knock, and Death Wish – have earned him critical praise and a reputation as a true innovator in the horror space.

Prorom distributes Borderlands in Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria.

The terror is real: Blumhouse's 'Imaginary' Horror About a Scary Teddy Bear is now in cinemas

He’s not imaginary, and he’s not your friend. Blumhouse’s  Imaginary hits theaters this weekend.

From Blumhouse, the genre-defining masterminds behind Five Nights at Freddy’s and M3GAN, comes an original horror that taps into the innocence of imaginary friends – and begs the question: Are they really figments of childhood imagination or is something more terrifying lying just beneath?

When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister.

As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.

Imaginary is directed by Jeff Wadlow, written by Jeff Wadlow & Greg Erb & Jason Oremland and produced by Jason Blum, Jeff Wadlow, p.g.a.

Imaginary stars DeWanda Wise, Tom Payne, Taegen Burns, Pyper Braun, Veronica Falcon and Betty Buckley.

Imaginary is Wadlow’s third collaboration with Blumhouse, including the box office hit Truth or Dare. “We have a lot of trust in Jeff’s ability,” says producer Jason Blum. “So, when he came to us with the idea behind the film, we were excited to explore his imaginary world. Jeff brings a unique vision and storytelling expertise to every project he's involved in, and his passion for the horror genre shines through in IMAGINARY. Jeff has a strong understanding of what makes horror films resonate with audiences, and his creative approach to blending psychological horror with childhood themes is what made us so enthusiastic about this project. His ability to craft compelling characters and build tension is exceptional.”

The monsters and specters haunting Jessica and her new family are the creation of the award-winning animatronic and practical effects house Spectral Motion. The company created the story’s creatures — Chauncey, and the fabrications and costume for a fearsome giant Spider, the shadowy Entity, and Chauncey’s monstrous alter ego, Bear Beast.

According to creature effects supervisor Mark Viniello, Spectral Motion largely used puppets to bring these terrifying beings to life, which facilitated their interaction with the cast members. Instead of pretending to emote opposite a visual effect that would be added months later, the actors had a tactile “being” to interact with.

Lionsgate and Blumhouse present, a Tower of Babble production.

Prorom will release Imaginary in Hungary and Slovakia (on March 7), Romania and Bulgaria (on March 8), Czech Republic (on March 14).

Ladybug & Cat Noir begin their first adventure on the big screen!

Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie, the much-anticipated feature adaptation of one of the biggest animated franchises of the past decade, will premiere in cinemas this weekend.

Directed by Jeremy Zag, this CG-animated musical superhero movie centers on the origin story of star-crossed Parisian teens, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste, who become the powerful superheroes, Ladybug and Cat Noir, and join forces to protect the City of Lights from a dangerous supervillain known as Hawk Moth.

Based on the global blockbuster TV series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, which first debut in Oct. 2015, this franchise finally arrives on the big screen.

The film’s writer-director-producer Jeremy Zag always knew that the dynamic characters of the Miraculous franchise had the huge potential to be adapted into a major animated musical feature. Zag, who also composed the music and co-wrote the songs for the movie, says he realized the project had the perfect ingredients for a movie when he began developing a stage musical based on the show.

“The more I began to develop the songs and the musical adaptation, I realized that the property has a lot in its hearts to tell audiences” says Zag, who also produced the TV series.

“With music, especially, you can touch the hearts of everyone, both young and old. I could see the movie in my head and the other producers and I had this epiphany at the same that that we just had to make Ladybug and Cat Noir into an animated musical.”

Zag says he wanted to create a fantastic experience for a new audience that perhaps isn’t familiar with the Miraculous franchise while pleasing the original fans of the TV show with a rich and intriguing origin stories for the characters.

“We set out to make new viewers fall in love with the characters and feel what the fans have felt about them and be swept away by the love story, the exciting action sequences and the songs and music.”

Prorom will release Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie in cinemas in Romania on December 22. The film has already been released in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia where it was a real success.

Freelance - the action movie starring John Cena is now in cinemas

Freelance - the action movie starring John Cena is now in cinemas!

In Freelance, John Cena plays a former Army Ranger turned family man who takes a job working security for a journalist who scores an interview with a South American dictator.

When they get caught up in a coup the former military operative finds himself on a more adventurous trip than he planned for.

Director Pierre Morel and the filmmaking team prided themselves on designing and executing production with practical effects and stunts – versus a reliance on heavy VFX.

“What I think is also fun, and we see less and less in movies is that I like the actors to do as much as they can themselves. We don’t have any CGI crazy creatures. John, Alison, and Juan Pablo got into the action pieces they had to do and I think that shows. The audience wants that.”

Freelance stars John Cena, Alison Brie, Christian Slater, Alice Eve, Juan Pablo Raba.

Prorom will release Freelance in cinemas in Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
