Susan Sarandon, Kate Winslet and Sam Neill in the first trailer for Blackbird
Millennium Films has released the official trailer for director Roger Mitchell’s upcoming drama Blackbird, which is an English remake of the 2014 Danish film Silent Heart.
Starring Academy Award® winners Susan Sarandon and Kate Winslet, the film is scheduled to be released in US theaters and on VOD on Friday, September 18.
Lily (Sarandon) and her husband Paul (Sam Neill) invite their family to a holiday getaway at their beach house, where Lily is spending her final days, so they can say goodbye. However, the cordial gathering veers awry when unresolved issues bubble up between Lily and her two daughters, Jennifer (Kate Winslet) and Anna (Mia Wasikowska).
The film stars Susan Sarandon, Kate Winslet, Sam Neill, Mia Wasikowska, Rainn Wilson, Lindsay Duncan, Bex Taylor-Klaus and Anson Boon.
Blackbird is directed by Roger Michell (Notting Hill) and written by Christian Torpe, who also penned the screenplay for Silent Heart, the Danish film on which it is based.
It was produced by David Bernardi, Sherryl Clark, and Rob Van Norden. The film had its world premiere last year at the Toronto International Film Festival.
