The Protégé stars Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson and Maggie Q and is directed by one of the masters of action movies Martin Campbell (GoldenEye, Casino Royale, Edge of Darkness, The Mask of Zorro).

Written by Richard Wenk, The Protégé (the working title was The Asset) is centered on the story of a young woman named Anna (Maggie Q), saved as a child by the legendary assassin Moody (Samuel L. Jackson) and trained to become one of the the best paid assassins in the world. When Moody is murdered, Anna searches for the killer to get revenge and everything turns into a game of seduction and domination against an enigmatic killer (Michael Keaton).

The cast also includes a series of Romanian actors, among them Florin Piersic Jr, Tudor Chirilă, George Piştereanu and Cosmin Dominte.

From the Romanian side for Frame Film, the producers are: Andrei Boncea (Amen, Callas Forever, Joyeux Noel, California Dreamin', The Wanderers), Dragoș Buliga (Las Fierbinți, The Wanderers) and Gabriel Popescu (Bunraku, Gunpowder, Treason and Plot, Dark is Rising).

Prorom and Ro Image will release The Protégé in Romanian cinemas starting August 27.

The world’s most lethal odd couple – bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) and hitman Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson) – are back on another life-threatening mission.

Still unlicensed and under scrutiny, Bryce is forced into action by Darius’s even more volatile wife, the infamous international con artist Sonia Kincaid (Salma Hayek).

Lionsgate released the first trailer for the action film The Protégé with Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson and Maggie Q, directed by Martin Campbell, filmed in Romania, and announced its release date: August 20, 2021.

The production lasted for 10 weeks in Bucharest and Snagov from the beginning of January 2020 until the beginning of the March lockdown, with a team of over 200 Romanian technicians as well as over 100 extras.

In Bucharest, sets from Laos, Vietnam or London were recreated. Part of the action takes place right in Bucharest, for the first time the location for an action film of such caliber.

The cast also includes a series of Romanian actors, among them Florin Piersic Jr, Tudor Chirilă, George Piştereanu and Cosmin Dominte.

The Director of Photography for this film is David Tattersal, who worked with writer/director George Lucas for three of his Star Wars movies (Phantom Menace - 1999, Attack of the Clones - 2002 and Revenge of the Sith - 2005).

Hitman's Wife’s Bodyguard, the sequel to the blockbuster Hitman’s Bodyguard is set to hit theaters this summer.

The 2017’s Hitman's Bodyguard co-starred Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds as a relentless bodyguard (Reynolds) and a manipulative assassin (Jackson) he's assigned to protect. Given the two have a past history, what should be an easy assignment gets complicated… and hilarious!

The director Patrick Hughes returns for the sequel, and has a star-studded line-up in store for this one. As seen in the above image, Reynolds, Jackson and Hayek will be facing off against a unnamed villain played by Antonio Banderas.

The sequel also star Morgan Freeman, Frank Grillo, Caroline Goodall and Richard E. Grant, the latter reprising his role of Mr. Seifert – another client of Reynolds’ bodyguard Michael Bryce – from the first instalment.

Prorom will release Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard in cinemas this summer.

Written by Richard Wenk (The Equalizer, Renegades, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back), the film is the story of two assassins (Keaton and Maggie Q) in direct competition, assassins who hold secrets from the Vietnam War. When one of their mentors is killed, they have to make a compromise alliance to return to Vietnam to discover the criminal.

The Asset has a team of very famous producers, people who have been behind some of the most successful action films of recent years: Moshe Diamant (Hurricane Heist), Rob Van Norden (Rambo, Last Blood) and Arthur Sarkissian (Rush Hour).

Director Martin Campbell begin the pre-production in Romania. The local production is coordinated by Frame Film.

Filming will begin on January 8, 2020 and will take place over 10 weeks in Bucharest, at various locations in the center of the capital, with production moving then for one week to London and one to Vietnam.

Prorom will release The Asset in Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia.
